GTA4 - Can not write license data

Issue

Upon launching GTA4, I'm getting the following error message:
Can not write license data

Solution

Click on Start > Run > CMD.
  • Press CTRL + SHIFT +ENTER
  • Type the following command rd /s "%APPDATA%\SecuROM" and press Enter.
  • Restart your PC and launch the game.
